Gritzalis Dimitrios
Dr. Dimitris Gritzalis is a Professor of ICT Security with the Dept. of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He also serves as Chairman of the University Research Centre, Director of the Information Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection (INFOSEC) Laboratory (www.infsec.aueb.gr) and Director of the Master's Programme on Information Systems.
Prof. Gritzalis holds a B.Sc. (Mathematics, Univ. of Patras, Greece), a M.Sc. (Computer Science, City University of New York, USA) and a Ph.D. (Critical Information Systems Security, Univ. of the Aegean, Greece).
He has served as Associate Commissioner of the Greek Data Protection Commission, as the President of the Greek Computer Society, and as the Chairman of Digital Aid S.A. He has provided services, in an expert's capacity, for several international organizations, including the Council of Europe, CEN, EU Joint Research Centre and EUROPOL. He has, also, served as evaluator for the Framework Programmes funded by the European Commission.
His current research interests focus, inter alia, on Security and Privacy in Online Social Net- works, Digital Forensics, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Hacking and Hacktivism, and Civic Rights in the Cyberspace.
Prof. Gritzalis is the Academic Editor of the Computers & Security journal (Elsevier). He has served as Chair - and proceedings editor - of several international conferences focused on security and privacy, including IFIP/SEC-1996, ENCRESS-1997, ACM/CCS-2000, IFIP/SEC- 2009, ESORICS-2010, IFIP/SEC-2012 and CANS-2014. He has, also, participated in the Programme Committee of more than 120 international conferences.
His publication record includes include 10 books and more than 160 papers, published in peer reviewed journals and international scientific conferences, with proceedings published by international publishers.
