Students of the Department of Economics-AUEB, represented Greece at the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022

On 19/5/2022 the coordinators of Fridays For Future Greece and students of the Department of Economics-AUEB, Alex Ramiotis and Eva Papanikolaki, represented Greece and the working group of  Fridays For Future Climate Education International at the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022, Barcelona 18-20 May 2022.

Together with representatives of other international organizations and politicians, they joined the round table discussion under the title: "Youth Collaborating with Educational Leaders on Climate Education".

The aim is to strengthen collaborations among youth, higher education leaders and decision-makers to embed climate education in higher education institutions.

Youth leaders presented their manifesto for climate education, endorsed by multiple international youth organisations, and stories of successful collaboration with policymakers. This was followed by reactions from national commissions and a discussion on ways to strengthen collaborations around the demands of youth.
