For the first time in its history, the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) participated in the international educational exhibition NAFSA 2024, which took place in New Orleans, USA from 28-31 May. NAFSA is the world's largest education exhibition taking place annually in the USA and is a meeting place for organizations, institutions, and professionals from the entire spectrum of international education.
The Athens University of Economics and Business was represented by its Rector, Professor Dimitrios Bourantonis, and the Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Growth, Professor Vasilis Papadakis. The AUEB delegation was part of a larger group of 9 Greek Universities and Study In Greece. Such extensive participation renders this the largest relevant Greek delegation in the history of the exhibition.
During the visit, AUEB delegates were given the opportunity to talk to institutions from the US, Europe and elsewhere. At the same time, some of the contacts that were initiated through the Pharos Summit 2022 were allowed to continue on US soil. The AUEB delegation was also informed about current developments in the field of internationalization and higher education, best practices, and promoted the institution and its English taught programs to foreign institutions and stakeholders.
AUEB's participation in NAFSA 2024 is expected to reap particular benefits for the University in the near future, bolstering the efforts made during the past years to internationalize our institution further.
